COUNTRY FAMILY GARDEN.

On the edge of the New Forest, this garden was created for a young family with a passion for gardening and a desire to learn. The design balances formal elements with naturalistic planting, combining playfulness with horticultural depth.

At the front, a formal arrival space was structured with gravel paths and pleached hornbeam, offering order and year-round presence. To the rear, an extensive orchard was laid out, the trees set among wildflower meadows inspired by Le Jardin Plume. This provided a productive yet richly seasonal landscape.

A naturally wet area beside a stream was developed as a bog garden, linked by a boardwalk that draws the eye towards the pool. Family life was celebrated with generous play spaces and bespoke features, including a fire pit cast with patterns recalling the clients’ time in Kenya.
